Missing Something?

Being the huge fan of Balmain that I am, I was very happy to see Demi Moore in a piece from the Spring 2010 collection on the December cover of W Magazine. She really looks fabulous. There are women half her age and younger that couldn’t look as good as she does in that dress!

But sadly, this picture is just another in a growing list that have recently been plagued by rumors of extreme and unnecessary photoshopping. To focus in on what I’m talking about, look above the letter R in her last name. Doesn’t her hip there look a little….lacking?

Mrs. Ashton Kutcher denies the rumors, claiming that the photo on the cover is, in fact, the original image. However, like many others, Los Angeles based photographer Anthony Citrano isn’t buying this. He’s challenged Moore to produce the original, unretouched photo. If she’s telling the truth, Citrano has pledged $5000 to a charity of Demi’s choice. I’m very curious to see how this will all turn out!

I guess I’m just a little puzzled by the choice of this picture for the cover. Regardless of whether or not its been digitally altered, her hip area looks a little lacking. Yet, at the same time, the cutouts of dress only emphasize the wearer’s hip, and I’m not sure that a woman with a boyish frame could pull it off. I’m not saying Demi has a boyish figure because that’s certainly not the case. I’m only saying that maybe they should have used a angle that was more flattering to both the dress and her hip.

I really like that dress, though the photoshopping. hmmm. if you’re going to enhance her, try to be a little more realistic I say.
