Amongst the plethora of silver embellishments present in the fall 2009 season was the zipper, now transformed into art from its original, functional state. I believe I was first struck by this trend in May, when Anne Hathaway wore a strapless version of #1 to the Met Costume Institute Gala. Some of these zipper adorned pieces have more toughness about them than others, but I really love how each is an artistic representation of something commonplace, practical, and typically hidden.
